We have earlier reported of the news that the Filipinos in the UAE who are displaced by the pandemic will have a cash assistance worth 200 USD (or 730 AED). This includes Filipinos who are still employed, but are on a “no work no pay” set-up. However, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Dubai has released an important advisory number 08-2020 wherein the cash aid is temporarily suspended
According to the important advisory, the reason is due to “pending evaluation of applications received and subject to availability of funds”.

Please note that this advisory was just posted and this is important that the kabayans are aware of this latest update. The cash aid applications worth AED 730 for Filipinos in Dubai has been temporarily suspended and will begin from 12:01am on April 21, 2020.

The public is hereby informed that pursuant to the directive of the Department of Labor and Employment, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office Dubai and Northern Emirates will temporarily suspend acceptance of applications for the DOLE one-time financial assistance for displaced OFWs due to COVID-19 “DOLE-AKAP for OFWs” pending evaluation of applications received and subject to availability of funds.

The reason for the temporary suspension of new applications is due to the availability of funds.
On another note, aased on the latest update from Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, on his Facebook Page shares that the as of April 19 – 9pm, there were a total of 10,933 applications received by POLO-Dubai, and from those applications, 3004 have been evaluated.
This recent suspension of applications was posted a day after the last DOLE-AKAP Assistance status update. Please stay tuned on this page for more updates regarding the cash assistance.
