The United Arab Emirates on April 29, 2020, has sent an aid plane which carried around 7 metric tons of medical supplies to the Philippines. According to a report from Emirates News Agency, the supplies are meant to strengthen Philippine’s efforts in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19.

The food and medical supplies will help over 7000 medical professionals and health workers to contain the virus. This act has coincided with the celebration of Ramadan in the country.
UAE AID: Medical and Food Assistance Sent to Philippines
The UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, Hamad Saeed Hamad Obaid Alzaabi, commented on the UAE aid delivery and said: “Through the provision of critical medical aid, the UAE affirms its commitment to offering a helping hand to the Philippines. Our two countries share a deep partnership between our governments and peoples, and it is our sincere hope that such assistance enables the Philippines to take the necessary action to defend itself against COVID-19.”
“The UAE stands in solidarity with all nations working to contain and confront the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
The UAE has been actively participating in sending assistance in various countries around the world. It has provided more than 334 metric tons of assistance and helped over 32 countries, supporting close to 334,000 health workers and medical professionals.
The assistance is truly appreciated and the supplies will surely help the recipients in the fight against COVID-19.
