Etihad Airways announces inbound flights for UAE expats stuck abroad

Etihad has a new update on its website which contains its schedule for inbound flights from abroad and arriving in Abu Dhabi. These are limited one-way flights intended for UAE residents who are stuck abroad. The current schedule is for 12 destinations and for the month of May 2020.

Passengers who are flying via these special flights must have a valid UAE residence visas and should have an ICA approval number (get here).

According to the statement, these special and limited flights are government-approved. But please be advised that given the sensitive situation, changes may occur, so always stay updated.

Below are the schedule of inbound flights and destinations:

  • Amsterdam: May 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29
  • Barcelona: May 14, 17, 24 and 31
  • Frankfurt: May 17, 24 and 31
  • Jakarta: May 15 and 29
  • Kuala Lumpur: May 23 and 30
  • London: May 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30
  • Manila: May 13, 15, 16, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30
  • Melbourne: May 13, 20 and 27
  • Seoul: May 22 and 29
  • Singapore: May 20 and 27
  • Tokyo: May 20 and 27
  • Toronto: May 12

In order to book these special inbound flights, passengers must first have a valid UAE residence visa.

Afterwards, passengers are advised to get an ICA approval by signing up for the UAE Twajudi Resident service by visiting MoFAIC.gov.ae.

After getting our ICA approval, you need to call the contact center of Etihad Airways Contact Centre so you can book a schedule of your return flight to UAE.

Again, you must hold a valid UAE resident visa and ICA approval number – you will not be permitted to enter the UAE if you do not have these.

Upon arriving in UAE, guests will undertake a PCR and thermal screening and are required to self-isolate for 14 days.

These schedules are subject to airport authorities and country regulation updates. Always check on your flight and check with Etihad Airways for any changes. We hope UAE expats who are outside will finally be able to return to the country.
